It is with great sadness that we have to advise you of the death on 11 August 2006 of the Chairman of the Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway, Richard Floyd.

Richard had been bravely fighting cancer for many months. Despite his illness he resolved to contribute as much as he could to the Railway and to continue as Chairman as long as he was able - which he succeeded in doing until the end.

All our thoughts at this sad time are with Richards family and especially his wife Joan and children Tom and Sophie.

Richard had been a member of the Board of Directors since 1993. His current, and former, colleagues on the Board and many others Members of the Railway will miss his wise counsel and quiet good humour.

The funeral took place at The Chilterns Crematorium on Monday 21 August.. The service was followed by a gathering of family and friends at Chinnor Station.
