Notes
#
Height dependent on position of warning horns, either mounted on roof or nose
section bonnet.
Some 37/0s are fitted with a second fuel tank giving a capacity of 1,690gal
(7,682lit).
Some locos fitted
with Sandite equipment.
General
Note
Under
the original TOPS numbering system, locos numbered between 37001-37119 were
phase 1 locos fitted with a split four-character alpha-numeric route indicator
headcodesystem, two panels were mounted in square boxes either side
of a central gangway door. By the time locomotives numbered above 37120 were
built the central gangway door, intended to enable train crews to move between
locomotives working in multiple, had been abandoned. Therefore locomotives numbered
higher than 37120 are deemed as phase 2 locos. The ease of recognition of the
two phases of locos is not complicated by much renumbering caused by refurbishment
and bogie modifications SSC.
