Contributing to TheRailwayCentre.Com

TheRailwayCentre.Com (TRC) is always pleased to receive contributions from readers in the form of news reports or illustrations for use in the pages of TRC.Com.

We are looking for at least one 'newsworthy' picture every day, which we can include on our title page as 'Picture of the day', in the main we try and use a very recent news or unusual working picture, but we will consider any suitable material for inclusion, if possible please try and include a reason why you consider the image to be suitable for 'Picture of the Day'.

In terms of news material we are always on the look out for unusual and interesting news illustrations, these might be used to illustrate a news story in one of our growing news sections, or be used to illustrate a notable working entry. While the TRC has a vast collection of images, the site is run for all to share their images and news, so please contribute if possible.

If you are the operator or press officer of a railway or railway supply company, please send us details of your events, products or news stories, as we are willing to share these with readers and site visitors. We are also willing for a small charge to place advertisements on suitable pages with links to company or supplier websites.

The submission of images for use on the TRC website must be in the digital format, saved as .jpg files and these should be at 300dpi reduced to no smaller than 1024 pixels wide, this enables our software to reduce the image for page inclusion while retaining the maximum quality of the original illustration. If possible please include full caption information in the 'file info' section of the image file or send this in the bulk of the e-mail. We are happy to include colour and black & white images in the pages of TRC.

As TRC aims to provide a high quality service to readers, please only submit illustrations that are well exposed, 100 per cent sharp, of good colour and do not have clutter 'growing' from the top of trains. Please remember that all submissions MUST be copyright of the sender. The Copyright of all images remains with the original photographer.

As TRC is not a commercial operation, i.e you are able to see all the news and illustrations for free, we are unable to offer reproduction fees, however a full name credit will be given for any item reproduced and a link to the contributors own website can be made if requested.
