It is not often that we see illustrations of double headed Deltics on the main line, however on 29 August 2006, Nos. 55022 and 55002 were teamed together, plus FM Rail Class 47 No. 47703 to power a test train from Barrow Hill to Heaton, Newcastle. No. 55002 from the National Collection and the Class 47 were detached at York, with No. 55022 continuing to Newcastle on its own as part of its main line recertification process. The amazing view of a triple headed train including a pair of Deltics is seen passing Swinton. Phil Wormald.
