New service launched by Northern

Passengers are set to benefit when Northern Rail introduces a new hourly daytime service between Leeds and Hebden Bridge via Dewsbury and Brighouse. The service, being introduced on Monday 10 December 2007 will operate Monday – Saturday.

This new service will mean faster journey times between Brighouse and Leeds and provide new journey opportunities between Brighouse and Hebden Bridge.

Morley, Batley and Mirfield will gain a half-hourly local service to and from Leeds all day until 19.00, Monday to Friday. Dewsbury will gain an additional train each hour between the peaks.

Malcolm Brown, Area Director, Northern Rail said: “These new services will provide excellent travel opportunities across the Calder Valley and we hope they will encourage people to make the transfer from road to rail.”
