Grand Central set for March launch
Grand Central are targeting the first weekend in March for the introduction of its full timetable of three trains each way between Sunderland-Hartlepool-Eaglescliffe-Northallerton-Thirsk-York & London King's Cross. This follows delivery of the sixth and final Class 43 the first three Carriages for the third train. One of the first two trains is operating the interim timetable already in place, while the other is undergoing acceptance trials.
The company has said it has had lots of customer feedback about how spacious the carriages are; the friendliness of staff and the excellent value for money offered.
The Grand Central full restaurant service should be starting in the near future. But until then passengers can enjoy an at seat buffet service in first class. The buffet car is open to all passengers.
GC is still currently waiting for the onboard WIFI installation to be completed, but this should be done in the near future.
