First ScotRail ‘January Sale’ : Travel anywhere in Scotland for £15 return

First ScotRail is launching a January sale for those aged 55 or over.

Its fantastic ‘Club 55’ ticket offer – travel anywhere in Scotland for just £15 return – goes live on 21 January and runs all the way to 31 March. Tickets go on sale on Monday 7 January.

The offer is especially good news for people who spent a lot over Christmas and New Year but want to visit family and friends – or see a bit of Scotland when it’s quieter.

There’s lots going on in Scotland at this time of year. For example, Celtic Connections runs from 16 January until 3 February, with music events at 14 venues across the Glasgow. Scotland-wide, people can also visit the best gardens and woodlands across the country between 1 February – 16 March as part of the Scottish Snowdrop Festival.

The £15 flat fare return tickets are valid on all train services within Scotland and available for all customers aged 55 or over.

Customers can also treat themselves to First Class travel with a Club 55 Premier ticket for only £19 return on routes between Edinburgh/Glasgow and Aberdeen and between Aberdeen and Inverness.

Peter Williams, commercial director at First ScotRail said: “We are delighted to launch our Club 55 offer in January for the first time. Many thousands of people took advantage of the offer last time around and we expect a repeat because of this great value for money option.

“The savings make it much easier to visit friends and family or simply see a bit of Scotland you’ve not visited before.” He added that further Club 55 promotions will follow later in the year.

Customers can book in advance or simply turn up at the station, buy a Club 55 ticket – and go.
