| More contracts awarded to EWS

E.ON, one of the UK’s leading power and gas companies, has awarded EWS Energy a new contract for the supply of coal trains to power stations. The new five year contract will see EWS Energy deliver coal by rail to E.ON UK’s power stations at Ironbridge and Ratcliffe, with significant volumes being transported on core rail routes from Liverpool and Scotland. Paul Bates, EWS Energy Managing Director, said: “EWS Energy and E.ON UK have a very strong relationship built on an understanding of the customer’s business. I am delighted that our offer, with the right balance of reliability and flexibility, has led to this new contract. We look forward to transporting coal for E.ON and continuing to enhance our service provision for many years to come.” --------------------------------- EWS Energy has also announced that it has been awarded a new five year contract from Scottish and Southern Energy plc (SSE) for the delivery of coal by rail to Fiddlers Ferry power station near Warrington in Cheshire. The contract between the parties deepens their already strong working relationship. Over the lifetime of the new contract EWS Energy will deliver thousands of coal trains to Fiddlers Ferry from the Port of Liverpool. Paul Bates, EWS Energy Managing Director, said: “This new contract from Scottish and Southern Energy is the fifth contract EWS Energy has been awarded in recent weeks. We are pleased to develop our already strong relationship with Scottish and Southern Energy and look forward to continue being a major part of their supply chain.” |
