| The Alstom-built 'Coradia' diesel multiple units can be best described as some of the most least successful in recent times, plagued with serious problems since introduction and now in summer 2002 the fleet are still not fully in service. The design comes in both 2 and 3 car formation and are used exclusively by First North Western on their North Wales based operations. Two-car set 175008 is illustrated in the North Wales bay at Crewe. CJM. |
| The entire fleet of Class 175s are allocated to a joint operated FNW/Alstom depot at Chester. All sets are finished in a mauve/blue livery off-set by a pink and white bodyside band and swirl. Passenger access is by a single wide opening sliding plug door at each end of each car. 3-car set No. 175106 is illustrated at Wolverhampton while working a Holyhead-Birmingham service. CJM. |
