| After a period of being painted in BR blue and then blue and grey, the Class 303 fleet were repainted in Strathclyde orange livery. In refurbished condition with bottom hinged hopper windows set 303067 approached Glasgow Central. CJM |
| In the late 1990s the Strathclyde PTE adopted a crimson and cream livery, which was applied to a handful of Class 303 sets. CJM |
| In the late 1970s a dozen Class 303s many unrefurbished were re-allocated to Manchester Longsight for Manchester-Liverpool-Crewe route use and received Manchester area orange and brown livery. Set 303060 is illustrated at Ilford during maintenance work. Note that the secondary middle window route indicator has been removed, sliding quarter light windows are retained and white dots have been placed in the former route indicator box. CJM. |
