In original as built condition with a a dc power collector above the cab/guards van on the power car, set No. 3 stands at Ilford. At this time frontal indication was by four white lights located below the non-driving front window, plus a destination indicator towards the roof line. CJM Collection.



Set No. 062 shows the rebuilt condition for ac power operation, with the pantograph located on one of the middle vehicle towards the power car end above a newly formed guards van. The area previously taken by the guards van in the driving car was modified for seating. Aslo showing the revised front end with dual display headcode panels between the windows and the original white frontal lights removed, set No. 062 passes Stratford. A Davy.
