Based on the Heathrow Express sets, these Class 333s, which operate in either three or four car formations were introduced to modernise the Leeds-Bradford-Ilkley/Skipton services and replace the ageing Class 308s. The sets are set out in a high-density 2+3 seating style and have a top speed of 100mph. The sets are finished in Metrotrain maroon, offset with yellow passenger doors and a silver bodyside 'N' which at the time of their introduction was the logo for route operator Northern Spirit. The sets have a bodyside route indicator (above the first window behind the cab). CJM

All sets are allocated to Leeds Neville Hill and in addition to working on their core route can occasionally be seen on the Leeds-Doncaster route. CJM
