The three and four car Class 375s now entering service on Connex are part of the 'Electrostar' family being built by Adtranz/Bombardier at Derby. Problems with commissioning has seen a huge delay into passenger introduction. Painted in base 'primer' set No. 375603 is seen on display at London Victoria. CJM

Members of Class 375/6 are dual power units, able to operate from either 750V dc third rail or 25kV ac overhead, other sub classes are confined to dc operation. A Pantograph Trailer Second (PTS) is shown. CJM

Class 375 'Electrostar' interior. On the left is the first class, set out in the driving cars behind the drivers position, seats are in the 2+2 style are in the main surround tables. On the right is the standard class interior, again using the 2+2 low-density layout as the sets are designed for outer suburban operation. Note the Connex yellow colour applied to the grab handles. Both: CJM

Class 375 'Electrostar' cab, a special re-design of the cab was needed as the Connex sets were required to have an end gangway, which meant the cab area had to fit into just one third of the front width. CJM
