Picture of the Day 11 April 2008 The latest livery to be applied to the EWS-owned Class 67 fleet is two-tone grey of the Wrexham & Shropshire Railway. The colours will be applied to three locos Nos. 67013/014/015, which will operate the London Marylebone to Wrexham service formed of Mk3 stock from late April. No. 67014 is seen at Banbury during driver training. |

Picture of the Day 20 April 2008 The Paignton & Dartmouth Railway held an 'Open House' weekend on Saturday/Sunday 19-20 April 2008, when a peak season passenger service was operated by a mix of steam and modern traction, the locos used were Class 25 No. D7635 and steam 7827 Lydham Manor. In addition to the main service, Class 03 No. D2192 gave brake van rides from Churston station to the yard. The Class 25 is seen arriving at Churston with the 11.15 departure from Paignton, while the 03 pushes its brake van through the yard. |

Picture of the Day 23 April 2008 Class 60s are not common working in Devon and Cornwall these days, with the majority of freight services powered by Class 66s. However on the evening of 21/22 April 2008, No. 60052 Glofa Twr - The last deep mine in Wales - Tower Colliery, worked to St Blazey. The loco returned on 22 April 2008 powering 6C41 14.26 St Blazey to Exeter Riverside, which is seen approaching Dawlish Warren. |

Picture of the Day 25 April 2008 The Cowley branch in Oxfordshire is not that frequently photographed. However, on 24 April 2008 EWS Class 66 No. 66067 is recorded powering train 4L40, the 16.59 Cowley(Oxford) to Purfleet enclosed car carriers ( loaded with new Minis). The train is seen at Spring Lane Crossing, with thee white building in the background being the Mini assembly plant. |

Picture of the Day 28 April 2008 In connection with the major track and signaling upgrade on either side of the Severn Tunnel a new signal gantry was erected over all 4 lines just west of Pilning station on Sunday 27 April 2008. It will only carry one colourlight for the 'up' main for sometime to come, but all new signals must now be of the overline gantry type to allow for future electrification projects. 43143 and 43136 forming the 10.29 Swansea to Paddington pass under the new structure on Monday 28 April 2008. |

Picture of the Day 29 April 2008 TRC does not support the graffiti of trains in any way, but this picture has been included to show the problems which National Express East Anglia now have to deal with. A specialist team of depot staff wearing special protective clothing now have an almost ongoing job to clean trains from full length graffiti attacks. This Class 317 (317512) will be out of revenue earning service for around a week while its paint work and windows are cleaned. When this set is finished, another is already lined up in the depot yard for like attention. If any reader of this website sees such graffiti attacks happening we urge them to call the civil or British Transport Police immediately. |

Picture of the Day 30 April 2008 The first HST powercar to carry the East Midlands Trains livery No. 43048 was shown off to the rail media at Leeds Neville Hill on 30 April 2008. At the event the car was named T.C.B Miller MBE after the designer of the HST fleet. No. 43048 will go into traffic on Friday 2 May 2008. |
