There are now less than 20 DBS Class 60s still working, and with the downturn in freight, due to the current economic climate this may shrink even further. Picture of the Day 9 February 2009 When Wrexham & Shropshire services went over to Class 67 plus DVT operation (from top and tailed formation) in October 2008, the locomotive was always on the south end. This was due to the awkward position of the locomotive under Rossmore Road bridge if the locomotive had been at the north end in the usual WSMR platform - Platform 4. In recent times train sets have appeared from time to time with the formation reversed. Here we see one of these reverse formation sets with WSMR liveried No. 67012 leading as the train leaves Marylebone Platform 3 on 6 February 2009 with the 16.33 to Wrexham . |
