What is likely to be the working of the year in Cornwall took place late on 1 June 2007, when the Penzance-Paddington sleepers were led by Virgin No. 57304 and FGW No. 57604. Cotswold Class 47 No. 47810 with FGW powercars Nos. 43182 and 43140 propel out of Exeter Depot onto the mainline on 4 June 2007. The 47 and powercars had worked up from Laira the previous afternoon and spent the night at the usually DMU only depot.

It is likely that sister loco No. 47501 will be repainted in the next few weeks and that the six recently obtained Class 57/0s will also sport this livery. Not exactly common - a view of class 87s through Ashchurch! The 0Z87 11.30 Oxley-Worcester heads passes the station behind No. 47828, with Nos. 87026, 87006, 87008 and 87007 in tow. The train was bound for Gloucester, where the '87s' will lay over until Monday before going to Long Marston.
