As many readers will have seen in the news yesterday (19 September), the 6B13, 05.10 Robeston to Westerleigh automotive fuel train, powered by 60093 and formed of 28 bogie wagons derailed its last wagon at Haresfield Loop at around 11.20. the rear wagon turned over and some slight leakage occurred. Nobody was injured and the line was closed until early evening. A visual inspection of the derailment scene shows the likelihood is that the train rolled backwards and derailed on catch points. Recovery of the wagon is to be undertaken with the Margam based heavy lifting crane overnight on 20-21 September. Little track damage was caused.
