Railway Photography was launched to provide an outlet for quality railway images and to provide help to photographers, with information about taking, editing and features of digital photography.

We welcome contributions from readers, these should be sent to rp@therailwaycentre.com

If you wish to subscribe to Railway Photography please send an e-mail request to

No charge will be made for this e-magazine, which which will be between 16 and 24 pages, with, depending on the number and quality of pictures submitted will be published about every two weeks. Obviously as we are not 'selling' this product, no reproduction fees can be paid.

The magazine is aimed at high-quality general railway photography, not news, and a totally open playing field is offered, allowing railway photographs of any subject, taken at any time, in any medium (Colour or black & white) or any traction type to be included, in fact the picture does not have to include a train, it could be a station, railway person, signalbox or item of lineside furniture. Pictures can be taken at any location in the world.

The only restriction is that pictures must be of high quality and must be submitted in a digital form (.jpg or .tif). TRC will do all pre-publication adjustments to make the image look its best, but we are unable to offer a scanning service.

In terms of submissions, we would ask that photographers please provide as much caption information as possible, either saved in the 'file info' section of the image file, or in an e-mail. Pictures will be reproduced in the main at around full page width (21cm), so when you send an image please keep this in mind. Files if possible should be no bigger than 6mb. All submissions should be sent to RP@therailwaycentre.com
