Class 41 HST See Technical Data

Carrying its original number 41001, the first of the prototype power cars is seen at Derby during early testing on the Midland and East Coast main line. Little did anyone know when this train emerged that it would pave the wave for what has become the Worlds most successful diesel. CJM.

By now classified as a multiple unit, 252001, the prototype HST stands under Brunel's magnificent roof at Paddington station on May 5, 1975, the day in passenger service on the Western Region. CJM.
