| The first loco of the build, No. E5000, which was later renumbered to E5024 is seen inside the electric shed at Stewarts lane soon after delivery. The loco is viewed from the grille body side. The central position roof mounted pantograph can be seen, while the blocks on the bogie frame just below the axle centres are the third rail power collector shoe housings. No. E5000 is seen in BR loco green livery. grey roof and offset by a red band running between the cab door ways. CJM Collection. |

| Viewed from the opposite side to the above illustration, No. 71007 shows the drop-down window side of the equipment room. If compared with the above illustration, the electric train supply jumper is now in a standard position. No. 71007 is seen at Stewarts Lane depot just prior to being withdrawn. CJM. |
