| The first member of the fleet No. D2700, the original 11700, shows the original body style, with a bunker like design at the rear and an uncomfortable cab for the driver. This loco carried the Lion and Wheel BR logo on the cab side and is painted in BR green livery. |

| No. 11706, later renumbered to D2706 is seen in original black livery with Lion on Wheel cab side logo. This loco shows the revised body style for the follow-on order. |
