Class - D2999 See Technical Data

In 1958/59 Brush together with Beyer-Peacock produced five demonstrator 0-4-0 diesel-electric shunting locos, with the view of winning orders from BR and the industrial sector. In the main the five locos spent most of their time at Loughborough with various trips to industrial sites. One loco was eventually sold to BR and numbered D2999. This loco was used from Stratford for a few years and eventually under the National Traction rationalisation plan was withdrawn. No. D2999 painted in BR green with wasp ends is seen at Stratford.
