On September 14, 1978, steam heat fitted Class 47/0 No. 47235 painted in corporate rail blue livery passes Dawlish Warren station with the 10.45 Paddington-Newquay 'Holiday Express' formed of 11 Mk 1 vehicles. The now demolished Dawlish Warren signal box is to the right of the loco. CJM In the days when 'Peak' power operated a number of InterCity CrossCountry services, formed of Mk 1 and Mk 2 stock, Class 46 'Peak' No. 46003 passes under the Rockstone footbridge on the sea wall between Langstone Rock and Dawlish on June 7, 1979. The train is the daily Penzance-Leeds working. CJM.
