| Improvements at Harlow Town
|
‘one’ railway, is replacing the lifts at Harlow Town station with new, modern versions to provide a better service for passengers with work commencing on the new lifts from 28 August 2007. The replacement work is scheduled for completion by mid-December 2007. During the refurbishment programme the closest locations with passenger lifts will be Bishop's Stortford and Broxbourne stations. For those passengers who are wheelchair users, alternative arrangements can be made for the journey between Harlow Town and Bishop's Stortford or Broxbourne. These alternative arrangements will be at no extra cost for wheelchair users. ‘one’ railway recommends that passengers requiring assistance should call the Customer Services Centre on 0845 600 7245 and choose the 'assisted travel' option. Other modifications and enhancements taking place at stations to improve accessibility include the installation of adjustable height counters, access ramps, improved lighting and tactile paving. |
