Seven DRS Class 66s start move to the UK from EMD

On Sunday August 19 2007, two loco transit moved operated to Toronto MacMillan yard.

GEXR train 432 arrived around 15.15 hauling nine locos, seven DRS Class 66/4s and two Algerian SNTF locos. This train had operated from the EMD plant in London via Stratford. The train wa formed GEXR 3835, RLK 2211, LLPX 2236, DRS 66426, DRS 66424, DRS 66425, SNTF 060DR13 (painted orange), SNTF 060DS01 (painted blue), DRS 66422, DRS 66423, DRS 66427 and DRS 66421.The locos were actually 'operated' as EMDX 3005, 3006, 3007, 3008, 3009, 3010, 3011, 3012 and EMDX 3013.

Later in the evening CN train 436-19 arrived Toronto MacMillan yard at 22.30 hauling four Algerian SNTF from the ITS plant in Welland. The train was formed CN 5242, barrier EMDX 11002, EMDX 3001, 3002, 3003, 3004 and barrier EMDX 11001.

All locos are allocated for transfer to the Port of Haifax and Jumbo Shipping. It is not yet clear if all will be shipped as one load or if two ships will be 'called' for the cargo. The UK-bound Class 66s are likely to be on UK soil in around 14-18 days time.

Three further DRS C;ass 66s are at the London factory.
