Summer blooms at 25 'one' stations

25 stations have been nominated for the ‘Anglia in Bloom’ ‘Best Station’ competition run by National Express Group's ‘one’ railway.  ‘one’ railway is the principal sponsor of ‘Anglia in Bloom’ and the ‘Best Station’ competition is one of the most competitive awards in the ‘Anglia in Bloom’ competition. The judging will take place on Tuesday 10 July, Tuesday 17 July and Wednesday 18 July at the following stations:

Westerfield, Wickham Market, Beccles, Reedham, Brundall, Norwich, West Runton, Sudbury, Bures, Chappel, Manningtree, Mistley, Wrabness, Great Bentley, Frinton-on-Sea, Southminster, Burnham, Althorne, North Fambridge, South Woodham Ferrers, Ingatestone, Witham, Marks Tey, Sheringham and Bury St. Edmunds.

Each station will be judged on the sustainability of the methods used to promote its environmental quality, their involvement with the surrounding community, environmental friendliness and horticultural excellence, as well as the visual impact of the floral displays.

David Lewis, Sales and Marketing Director for ‘one’ railway said: “At ‘one’ railway we are pleased to be associated with ‘Anglia In Bloom’ and we are proud of the efforts put in by our staff and volunteers in helping to make our stations more pleasant and welcoming”

The winners of last years competition were Brundall, which won the award for the best small station, Acle and Attleborough for the best medium sized station and Norwich for the best large station.  These stations had outstanding floral displays to the great enjoyment of rail passengers who confessed that being greeted by a bright and cheerful array of flowers in the morning gives them a positive and refreshing start to the day.

The overall winner of the competition will receive the Anglia in Bloom trophy. So step aboard and enjoy the sights, as everything is coming up roses at ‘one’ railway stations.
