| Local resident officially opens new shelter at Littleport station
|
Lifelong railway worker Joy Ducker has officially opened a shelter at Littleport station. Joy, who lives in Littleport opened the new shelter on 4 July. She was helped by First Capital Connect’s Area Manager Angie Palmer and Vice Chairman of the Fenline Users’ Association, Robert Stripe. Angie Palmer, Area Manager, First Capital Connect, said: “The previous shelter at Littleport was damaged by fire back in 2005. Joy is regular traveller with us and worked for many years in the railways so it seems fitting to ask her to officially open the new shelter.” First Capital Connect is continuing to invest in its stations and is one year into an £8m station investment programme. Over the coming year, help points and CCTV, which will be linked to a 24 hour seven days a week monitoring centre, will be installed. |
