Network Rail CEO John Armitt honoured with powercar naming

The outgoing Chief Executive Officer of Network Rail, John Armitt was honoured at Euston station on 16 July, when he was invited to name New Measurement Train powercar No. 43062. When he parted the curtains his own name was applied.

John, who retires from Network Rail this year has had a long and distinguished carrier in the engineering and rail industry. A civil engineer b training, John was Chief Executive of Costain Group and then led Union Railways before taking of the most challenging job of all, the leadership of Network Rail.
