More parking for rail passengers at Kemble

First Great Western is extending its car park at Kemble Station, near Cirencester, to create an additional 50 parking spaces for rail customers. Funded by First Great Western, the extension is part of a major investment to provide extra car parking capacity at stations across the region.

The work stared on 16 July 2007 and involves cutting back vegetation at the edge of the car park to provide more room for extra parking spaces spaces, which will be clearly marked out.  A new access road will also be installed.

Andrew Griffiths, First Great Western's Regional Manager, says: "Kemble is an important station, especially for commuters, and space in the car park has been at a premium for some time.  This work will reduce the pressure on the car park by creating additional space and make life easier for all our customers."

First Great Western is also working with Network Rail to develop further parking opportunities at this station.
