| First GBRf commences new contract with EDF Energy

| Freight haulier First GBRf has commenced a new contract with EDF Energy, which began this month. The contract sees the movement of three coal trains a day, each weekday, from Welbeck or Thoresby collieries to West Burton or Cottam power stations, with a new route likely to start in early in 2008. The trains run with 22 HYA wagons hauled by a Class 66/7 locomotive capable of moving 1,600 tonnes of coal per train. John Smith, Managing Director at First GBRf, said: “We are delighted to have secured this new deal, particularly with the scope to add further routes. With support from customers like this our business will continue to grow very quickly" |
