The German newspaper Süddeutscher Zeitung has reported that German rail operator DB is to buy a 55 % stake in UK railfreight company EWS, following the sale of DB's Scandlines Ferry subsidiary. Formal approval is awaited which should be given at the next meeting of the DB Board of Directors.
