First ScotRail Carnoustie Station to receive state of the art Customer Information System thanks to joint partnership

Passengers travelling in and put of Carnoustie are to benefit from new state of the art Customer Information Systems (CIS) thanks to a successful partnership between First ScotRail and Angus Council.

As part of their ongoing plan to improve station facilities as well as the overall journey experience for customers, First ScotRail has teamed up with Angus Council, to deliver the installation of brand new, state of the art LED and flat screen CIS at Carnoustie Station.

The work, valued at £30,000, is being funded from a Scottish Executive grant to Angus Council as part of the Angus Rail Interchange Project and is expected to be completed by the end of August. The new system will provide customers with up to the minute service information, making for a more seamless and informative journey.

Peter Williams, commercial director at First ScotRail said: "We continually look at ways of how we can improve the services and facilities we provide for customers to further enhance their overall journey experience. Through working in partnership with Angus Council, our customers will benefit from up to the minute service information which we are confident will be a welcome addition."

David Selfridge, Angus Council's Convener of Infrastructure Services, said: "I welcome the provision of CIS at Carnoustie station, which will complement other improvements to passenger facilities at the station."
