DRS returns to Freightliner Coatbridge

Following Freightliner Ltd’s recent announcement welcoming an EWS train into their Maritime Terminal in Southampton, Freightliner has confirmed that Direct Rail Services (DRS) has been running two daily services into Freightliner’s Coatbridge terminal since 19 June 2006. The services to and from Daventry will bring approximately 100 additional boxes per day.Freightliner undertakes the management of train arrivals and departures, and the handling of all containers to and from the services on behalf of DRS. Despite the additional volumes moving through the site, Coatbridge has maintained excellent service levels.

Keith Gray, Business Planning Director, Freightliner Intermodal, commented: "Freightliner is delighted to have come to such a mutually beneficial agreement with DRS, and to have further cemented our existing relationship. Following the success of the current services, we are also in discussions over an additional train.”

Chris Connelly, Commercial Director, DRS added; “We have been extremely impressed with the excellent level of service provided by Freightliner; all of our services have run without complication and we look forward to reaching a long standing agreement that will benefit both companies’ business.”
