More ticket barriers for Liverpool Street

‘one’ railway is to install automated ticket barriers on Platforms 8, 9 and 10 at London Liverpool Street station.

The barriers, which are being installed at a cost of £880,000 which is being project managed by Lambert Smith Hampton (Commercial Property Agents), means that all platforms at the station will have automated ticket barriers, and increases the amount of barriers from 50 to 65.

The completion of the fitment of ticket barriers at Liverpool Street will ensure a consistent approach to access station platforms and the installation of the barriers is a further initiative to clampdown on ticketless travel, and to minimize revenue loss to the business, which will have a positive effect on improvements and services that can be offered to passengers.

Commenting on the scheme, ‘one’ London Terminals Manager Steve Newland said: “We welcome the installation of the new gates at Liverpool Street, which shows our determination to eradicate ticketless travel and improve the service we can offer to our customers.”
