Improved facilities at Rayleigh

‘one’ Railway customers using Rayleigh station are experiencing better levels of comfort and customer service thanks to a series of improvements introduced by the train operator. A substantial programme of painting of the following areas has been undertaken:
* Platform lampposts, * Platform doors, *Platform windows, *Booking Hall. The Ticket Office at Rayleigh has also had new flooring installed in the ticket hall, to provide a cleaner and fresher customer environment.

David Winder, Metro Business Director for ‘one’ said: “Investing in our stations is a key part of our focus in delivering improved services to rail passengers. Brightening-up the appearance of many of our stations with a new lick of paint, and a number of other improvements across the network are helping to transform our stations into a more attractive and welcoming environment.”

The programme undertaken at Rayleigh is part of a wider programme of station repainting and re-signing at stations across the Metro route on the ‘one’ Railway network which will be completed by May 2007 as part of a £45,000 investment.
