Steam train heating ends in Ireland

The last rake of steam heated Cravens stock was withdrawn from service on the morning of Monday 11 December 2006. The rake had formed the 0515 Athlone to Dublin Heuston, which was hauled by 071 Class GM loco No 079. Steam heat is now extinct on Iarnrod Eireann. (Writes Alan R. Hawkins)
