Pioneer 222103

Various readers have asked what has happened to Hull Trains 'Pioneer' No. 222103.

This unit, while undergoing maintenance at Bombardier Crofton Depot, around 12 January, was involved in an incident when two vehicles 'fell off' the depot jacks, sustaining what is described as 'serious damage'.

The two vehicles have now been removed by road to Bombardier Crewe for detailed assesment and repairs are understood to be possible, subject to agreement with the insurance company looking after the claim.

In the meantime Hull Trains are one set short, this comes just when they introduced a 7 train service, we understand a Class 67 powered formation of Mk3 stock (TSO/TSO/TSO/RFM/FO/DVT) is to be formed up and used, the stock is what was previously WB64.
