The long awaited official launch of the refurbished FGW HST set will take place on 17 January 2007.

The special set (which is unlikely to be a full 2+8 formation), with MTU-fitted powercars will be first displayed at Plymouth station between 07.30 and 08.35 before forming a special service to Bristol Temple Meads. The train is then due to be shown off to the Bristol area media in an event on platform 11 between 10.30 and 11.15. the set will then travel to London Paddington where it is due to arrive at 13.30 in platform 8 for an inspection by London-based media, First Group and other interested parties un til 14.50.
