GNER tells pasengers book now for Easter

East Coast train operator GNER begins taking bookings for the busy Easter weekend from Thursday, 18 January 2007 – more than eleven weeks ahead of the holiday.

GNER’s advance purchase tickets, which offer savings for passengers who book ahead of travel, are expected to be best-sellers in the coming days – and so customers are being reminded that it’s first come, first served for the pick of the bargains.

GNER spokesman John Gelson says: “We know that our passengers need to be able to confirm travel arrangements for the Easter holiday well in advance, and so we’re pleased to make that possible this year. “Our advance purchase fares are available now for travel throughout the Easter holiday, with bookings now open right through until April 13 – four days after Easter Monday. The earlier you book, the better the range of bargain tickets with GNER”.
GNER’s advance purchase fares offer a simpler and clearer selection of value tickets for those who book ahead. Passengers can mix-and-match outward and return journeys using separate single tickets to get the best value fares on every GNER train … and at the same time, benefit from exclusive discounts available for online booking.

Advance purchase return fares between London and key destinations on the GNER route, booked online, start from:
Peterborough - £16.90 Standard Class, £40.10 First Class
Doncaster - £16.90 Standard Class, £52.50 First Class
Leeds, York – £19 Standard Class, £57.90 First Class
Darlington - £19.60 Standard Class, £65 First Class
