New lounge for Exeter St Davids

First Great Western has begun work on upgrading customer waiting facilities at Exeter St Davids station.

The work will be completed by the end of February 2007, and will offer far more comfortable and secure facilities for train travellers at the busy station.

The major conversion project will see interior remodelling of the existing building on platforms 5 and 6. Creating a new waiting lounge with extra seating space, comfortable sofas, new disabled and ladies toilets and a snack bar, will ensure a modern and comfortable waiting area for passengers at the station.

Kevin Ogilvie–White, Station Manager for Exeter and Mid Devon, says: “This work at Exeter St Davids station will significantly enhance our provision for customers on our busiest platforms. Customers will soon have more
space, greater comfort and much improved facilities, which include computer access and a dedicated customer service point for help and information.”
