More information at Bathgate and Livingstone North
|
|
Passengers at Bathgate and Livingston North stations can now benefit from the provision of additional information on the platforms as well as on train announcements during times of disruption, following the agreement of a comprehensive contingency plan. The plan has come about following discussions between First ScotRail and Linlithgow MSP, Mary Mulligan and is designed to ensure that customers travelling to and from Bathgate and Livingston North stations are provided with detailed onward travel information and advice to assist them during times of disruption, often due to the single track line on this route For those waiting at stations, Customer Information System notices will be relayed as quickly as possible to advise on where customers should go for alternative transport and onward train connections. In addition, extra poster sites have been installed on the platforms which will carry information and signage as to the location of alternative transport, making it as clear as possible for customers. Peter Williams said: “Following talks with Mary Mulligan and listening to customer feedback, we have put in place an agreed contingency plan which will help minimise the impact on our customers on the occasions when services are disrupted. With additional information posters as well as improved information flow, we can ensure that customers know exactly what their onward travel options are.” Mary Mulligan, MSP for Linlithgow, said: "It has been made clear that passengers on this route want First ScotRail to run this service as promised in the timetable. When problems arise, these new measures will ensure passengers are given information that it is current. The best solution to timetabling problems will be the dual tracking, for which work has started, but this information sharing will help." |
