Ex Virgin Trains powercars Nos. 43121 and 43157 recently hauled by Cotswold from store at MoD Long Marston to Wabtec Doncaster, are to become traction/power test beds for refurbished GNER HST coaching stock sets which are receiving attention at the plant.

GNER do not have space 'active' powercars to allocate to Doncaster for the testing of the vehicles before return to traffic and Porterbrook have hired the cars to Wabtec for this role. It is not clear at this stage if the Class 43s will undertake main line testing or only carry out trials within the works complex.
