Network Rail awards GrantRail £16 million West Coast Main Line rail contract

GrantRail Group, the railway systems engineering company, has strengthened its position as a first line supply partner to Network Rail with the award of a £16 million contract for the design and implementation of the Nuneaton Area Remodelling.

Gren Edwards, Chief Executive of the GrantRail Group commented "We are delighted with the award of this prestigious contract signifying the further development of our long-term relationship with Network Rail as a framework and project delivery partner. The professional quality and commercial value of our tender submission for the project was the deciding factor in our success”

The project involves the reconstruction of the track layout and overhead power lines to be carried out within a multi disciplinary hub and spoke contract structure.

GrantRail will be appointed Principal Contractor for the entire project. Design work commences immediately with the implementation starting in October 2006 for completion in early 2008.

This project forms a key part of the massive investment programme being undertaken by Network Rail for the modernisation of the West Coast main line.
