EWS start van clear out from Euston Down Carriage Sidings (DCS)

After the termination of EWS-operated Royal Mail trains in the UK, a huge number of vehicles, TPO, general vans and PCVs were stored throughout the network. One of the largest collections of vehicles, 79 in total were stored at Euston. A start has now been made to clear out this stock, with some vehicles passing to preservation groups, others for further use but the majority will go for scrap.

A move from Euston to Willesden took plate overnight on 16/17 November formed of EWS Class 66 No. 66025 which saw vehicles 80321, 80326, 80327 (bound for the Nene Valley), 80347, 80351, 80363, 80382 (bound for Boness), 80429 (bound for the Colne Valley Railway), 80430, 80438, 80457 and 94447 transported to Willesden Brent.

Some 67 vehicles of various types still remain at Euston.
