New offices for Northern Rail

Northern Rail has confirmed its commitment to York when it officially opened its new support offices at the aptly named Northern House on Rougier Street in the city centre.

Previously based at Main Headquarters and West Offices on Station Rise, 250 employees working in Northern Rail’s support functions such as Safety, Performance and Planning, Engineering and Human Resources, are now all under one roof on four floors in the newly refurbished Northern House.

Heidi Mottram, Managing Director, Northern Rail said: “Northern House provides modern facilities and an open plan layout that deliver real improvements to the working environment of our employees who support our frontline teams. At a time of uncertainty in the local job market this move also signals our continued commitment to the City of York."
