It has now been confirmed that the Class 43 powercars presently passing through Brush Traction of Loughborough for refurbishment and fitting of MTU power units will be renumbered.

Cars originally in the 430xx series will emerge in the 432xx range, the final two digits of the original number remaining, Cars in the 431xx range will be renumbered in the 433xx series.

The first two vehicles to emerge with their new identity will be 43290 (43090) and 43300 (43100). These two vehicles should be released at around the year end and will after testing be married up with the first refurbished passenger rake presently at Wabtec Doncaster.
