'one' Completes £25M upgrade and names 90011 'Lets Go East of England'

‘ONE' RAILWAY AND EAST OF ENGLAND TOURIST BOARD MARK THE COMPLETION OF THE TRAIN OPERATOR'S £25M UPGRADE OF MAINLINE TRAIN FLEET

Special service to run from Norwich to London , and ‘one' railway locomotive to be named ‘Let's Go East of England ' at London Liverpool Street

‘one' railway teamed up with the East of England Tourist Board (EETB) on Tuesday 17 October to mark the completion of the train operator's £25m investment in upgrading the company's fleet of Mark 3 carriages operating the Norwich to London Liverpool Street mainline service. The event also saw Class 90 No. 90011 named Lets Go East of England.

The transformation of the mainline service through upgrading the fleet of 118 Mark 3 carriages completes a key franchise commitment for ‘one'. All the carriages have been completely upgraded with new interiors, new facilities for the disabled, air-conditioning improvements and with all vehicles in a smart, new livery. The fleet also features 6 new buffet vehicles and upgrades to the existing restaurant coaches.

The features of the upgrade includes:

  • A total of 14 fully upgraded train sets on the Mainline service
  • New interiors including seat covers, carpets, curtains and decor enhancements
  • All vehicles fully repainted in the ‘one' livery
  • Upgraded buffet areas
  • More seats compared to Mark 2 vehicles (Mark 3 coaches are longer)
  • Bean-to-cup coffee machines in all catering vehicles
  • Improved accessibility for the disabled and provision of disabled access toilet on each set
  • Smoother, more comfortable ride quality
  • More reliable interior doors, lights and air-conditioning systems on the Mark 3 vehicles
  • Retention of full catering service including restaurants, buffets and at-seat trolley service
