Half a million bargains in GNERs online ticket sale

GNER is to offer thousands of extra bargain fares in a four-day GNER Ticket Sale on its website (www.gner.co.uk).

Half a million of the company's cheapest advance purchase tickets will be made available across the four-day period starting this Friday, 22nd September - that's two and a half times more than normal.

Passengers booking via the GNER website at www.gner.co.uk can look forward to even greater savings, thanks to the permanent ten per cent discount on Standard and First Class Advance tickets booked online. Standard Advance single fares booked online start from:
* £8.45 between London and Leeds or York
* £8.90 between London and Darlington, Durham or Newcastle
* £11.15 between London and Edinburgh.
Return prices start from double the single fares shown.

The extra advance purchase tickets which are being made available under the sale offer will be for travel in November and December. GNER advance purchase tickets can be booked up until 1800 the day before travel, subject to availability.

GNER commercial director Michelle Drage said: "As part of this special four-day offer, a total of 400,000 of our cheapest Standard Class advance tickets will be made available - plus a further 100,000 of our lowest priced First Class fares. "This is a superb opportunity to enjoy all the comfort, speed and quality of GNER train travel at a great value price. GNER trains are the ideal way to visit many great destinations along the East Coast route - possibly to start some early Christmas shopping - and to make that trip with a bargain travel deal".

GNER's research indicates that this is a busy period for those booking Autumn breaks, and with great city destinations including London, Leeds, York and Edinburgh on the East Coast route, the company expects this offer will prove popular with passengers.
