Presentation of 'Brian Morrison' nameplate

Class 47 No. 47847, which was once part of the core Virgin Trains fleet and more recently used by Porterbrook for hire purposes has now lost its Brian Morrison/Railway World nameplates. The loco is scheduled to be repainted in mid-blue and commence work for DRS in the near furure.

The cast nameplates were removed at the LNWR workshops in Crewe on 21 September and the plate Brian Morrison was then presented to its 'owner' railway photographer and author Brian Morrison in a private ceremony at the workshops.

No. 47847 was originally named in a ceremony at London Euston on 10 January 2002, when Brian was invited to unveil the plate on the side of No. 47847, not knowing what the name said, he had been told it was Railway World.
